Intel Penang Design Center established in 1992, is one of the largest and most advanced Intel Design and Development centers in the Asia Pacific region. Intel PDC designs Intel® Core™2 processors, Intel® Atom™ processors, and Advanced IA Platform Chipsets. Our Design Engineers architect and create innovative IP and features for the next platform SOC (System-On-a-Chip) solutions on 32nm (nanometer) and 22nm process technologies. Currently we have the following positions:

Circuit Design Engineering (Ckt DE)
Analog Circuit Designers deliver analog circuit design solution to mainstream CPU, Chipset and SoC (System-On-a-Chip). The team is responsible to provide IO (Input/Output) interface and special circuit design, pre-silicon validation and post-silicon electrical validation to both Penang based projects as well as global projects designed out from Penang. The team has also established the regional leadership role in circuit validation and increase responsibility in electrical validation. Moving forward, the team continue to excel in analog design excellence through strategic partnerships and seeding into new circuit initiatives and process technology.

Front-End Design Engineering (DE)
This Front-End Design Engineers will involve in PCH (Platform Controller Hub) and Consumer Electronics SOC design. Involve in architecture, logic prototype RTL modeling (VHDL, Verilog and other hardware description languages) synthesis, circuit, layout to develop “first of its kind” industry standard silicon and SOC initiatives. Drive innovative power/ performance optimization and dynamic power management. This includes energy efficient architecture power/performance tradeoff analysis, voltage and clock frequency distribution, dynamic power management, RTL level power estimation and power efficient architecture verification.

Design Automation (DA)
Design Automation engineers develop new design techniques and improve the performance of Intel’s next-generation platform solutions. They accomplish this by assessing new architecture and approaches in EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software engineering, and by specifying new solution, methodology, and supplies to enable design engineers to perform VLSI design. The focuses of design automation cover across front-end design, structural design, custom design, physical design, environment, and post Si design.

Software Development Engineering (SDE)
Software Development engineers involve the design and development of software solution and tools for Intel product test development. As a software development engineer, you will be designing and developing new test solution and software for the test conversion, validation, test library and test suite. The solution involves the software development in Linux/Windows .net, object database design, parser/compiler design, parallel programming, software performance and optimization, VHDL/Verilog HDL simulation, and tester and test method environment which meet product development and validation requirement.

Platform Validation Engineering (PVE)
PDC Platform Validation team are specifically chartered to perform post silicon validation on Intel’s next generation platform including CPU, chipset, SOC and board using custom-designed hardware and software. As a senior validation engineer you will be working very closely with Design Engineers and other Engineering discipline on future Intel leading edge products to ensure the high quality and reliability that Intel known for. These activities include but not limited to: defining and driving the implementation of debug hooks, Design for validation (DFV), Design for Testability (DFT), develop customized content based on coverage needs and Intel architect (IA) design.

Product Development Engineering (PDE)
PDE team charter is to develop comprehensive and thorough test solution for Intel products. As a PDE, you will be exposed to device architecture (RTL and microarchitecture), engaged with Design Engineer to deliver DFT (Design For Testability) solution, responsible for test writing/debug (through Verilog/VHDL and gate level simulation), creating test vector on tester platform, designing test hardware, managing silicon debug and developing test program. Our goal is to qualify new products and enable product startup with low Defects per Million (DPM) and cost with high yield.

Requirement
B. Sc/ B. Engr/ Master of Sc/ Engr or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering. For Bachelor degree, we need minimum 7 years of relevant working experience; Master and PhD minimum 5 years working experience. The candidate needs to be familiar with PC platform architecture, VLSI CMOS logic design and good understanding of analog circuit and semiconductor device physics. The candidate should have strong analytical skills, be able to work independently and work at various levels of abstraction from concept to details. Excellent communication skills and strong initiative are highly valued. A track record of successful execution of complex development/integration projects is desired.

Career and Compensation
Join us to build your engineering career in the Design and Development of the next generation Intel® Core processors, Advanced IA Chipsets and System-On-Chip (SOC) solutions. Attractive compensation and benefit is awaiting qualified candidates. That will include International Relocation Package and Children’s International School Assistance.
