Responsibility
• Assist the SAP Technical Manager in the provision of SAP Basis administration and support (including Database and OS) for all SAP systems in use (R/6, SRM, BI, EP, SME).
• In conjunction with the SAP Technical Manager, lead the delivery of SAP Basis projects to include installations, upgrades and migrations working closely with the SAP Application and Network Services Teams.
• Provide technical input into the design and implementation of hardware and software configuration of new SAP systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor calls assigned to the SAP Basis Team to ensure that appropriate action is being taken in a timely manner and report back to the SAP Technical Manager and/or Technical Services Manager with any potential SLA breaches / or other issues.
• To assist the SAP Technical Manager in the development and monitoring of SAP downtime and to carry out Root Cause analysis where trends are evident.
• Ensure that the relevant SOP’s / Work Instructions are adhered to and improved upon where necessary for the operation, support and troubleshooting of the technical aspects (Basis) of SAP systems.
• Manage proactively the availability, capacity and performance of all SAP systems and provide KPI/SLA reporting against same.
• Undertake regular maintenance of SAP systems including OS & DB patching, client / system copies, disaster recovery testing, kernel upgrades, support stack management and application.
• Maintain and configure Solution Manager Enterprise for system monitoring, administration, maintenance, reporting and Enterprise Support.
• Work to optimise and existing processes / systems in use within the SAP Basis Team.
