We are looking for Java Developers to work on existing and new projects for reputable Fortune 500 companies. This position is responsible for working on the development, design and coding using new technology frameworks, and concepts to quickly deliver functionality for our customers. The open-source frameworks and technologies utilized in these initiatives include Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, MySQL, Oracle. The ideal candidate will have experience working on agile teams developing software in a collaborative and iterative manner and have a very strong ability to pick up and learn newer open source technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop applications and web site solutions using Java, Struts, Spring, Hibernate and other web technologies.
  • Ability to prioritize work and help the team assess impacts to timelines
  • Communicate gaps in business and technical functionality
  • Unit and system testing of application code, as well as execution of implementation activities.
  • Analysis and identification of technical areas of improvement within existing web applications.
  • Participate in technology forums and industry user groups
  • Work in an agile environment (Some XP practices). Core practices include pair programming (when necessary), test-driven development, continuous integration, small release cycles, and collective code ownership. Minimum term of employment – 1 year

Required Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree preferably in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5+ years experience in developing web applications using Java
  • Experience with frameworks including Spring, Struts, Hibernate, WebServices.
  • Experience with AJAX libraries / frameworks
  • Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus especially in the areas of writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code
  • Leader or contributor in open-source Java software is a plus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Minimum (3) years experience in Standard (J2SE) and Enterprise (J2EE) Java Development including
  • JDBC, IO and data structures
  • Java Servlets, Java Server Pages, Struts, and Java Server Faces
  • XML, Web Services, SOAP
  • Analysis, design, coding and unit testing of scalable, distributed applications in Windows environments using in Object Oriented.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, XSLT.
  • Strong knowledge of application servers such as Jakarta Tomcat.
  • Hands on experience using Design Patterns
  • Experienced in extreme Programming and Agile methodology tools like ant,J-unit..
