Java/J2EE Software Engineer
Archimedes Services Ltd. is a rapidly growing custom development and software outsourcing company with its headquarters in the UK. We specialize in the development of custom software applications and offshore software outsourcing services. Our company carries out custom programming, database design, client-server and internet/intranet/e-Commerce software application development.
We currently require talented individuals to join our office in Lahore. Using the latest and greatest technologies, you will have a real passion for software development, and ideally be a graduate with a degree in computer science. As a Developer this is an excellent chance to join a dynamic and welcoming team and broaden your knowledge as you will be taking on a number roles and work within diverse fields and technologies.
An ideal resource will have the following qualities:
- Have a good understanding of web and desktop technologies.
- Be used to taking and sticking to a brief.
- Have a clear understanding of interaction design & information architecture.
- Be able to write clean, commented code that others can understand.
- Communicate clearly with interaction designers, especially ones strong in visual design.
- Attention to detail, and a penchant for testing.
NOTE: We work with a diverse set of technologies - please be aware that you will be required to work on other languages/platforms from time to time. If you do not have the required skill-set, be prepared to receive training. The positions we are hiring for requires expertise in a number of languages/technologies. In essence, we require individuals with all around technical skills. Candidates should have at least 6 months to 1-year experience in developing applications with Java and J2EE.
Skill-set:
- Multi threading concepts and implementation
- SWING, layout managers handling user interaction (events), and responsive user interfaces (see a) )
- I/O streaming
- Object oriented concepts
- Must have: Junit, Rapid application development concepts, Extreme/AGILE development methodology
- Must have: Eclipse or JBuilder IDE experience
- Must have: Open source development tools e.g. log4j, Spring, Hibernate, Struts, tapestry, junit, CVS or Subversion source control
- Exposure to CRM, ERP, VOIP and other enterprise application development concepts
- Must have: J2EE experience - JSPs, Servlets, EJBs, Portlets (JSR-168), Portals, JSF, Web Applications
- Must have: Container experience e.g. JBOSS, Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS Workflow
