Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Karachi
Compass Partners is a US-based firm working over creating software solutions that enables process and data standardization, to capture and implement best practices. Our Karachi office is currently looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer.

Job Requirements:
- 2-4 years experience in QA or development roles.
- Leadership and mentoring skills, the ability to research and identify test requirements, and the ability to define test plans for all aspects of software testing including functional, integration, performance, stress, and scalability testing.
- Ability to define test cases and scripts based on documented testing requirements and test plans, ability to prepare reports and analyses on tests and test results, and demonstration of a thorough knowledge of software testing issues, methods, metrics, and resources.
- Proficiency with QA concepts, issues, methods, and tools and will demonstrate a detailed understanding of the software testing methods and software development processes used by the organization.
- Must work within established practices to maintain, modify, and enhance existing software quality methods and processes, and participate in the development and testing of new software quality assurance methods.
- Experienced with both Windows & Web applications.
- Analytical and systematic thinking. Positive attitude, proactive and good team spirit.
Job Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will analyze documented functional requirements and specifications and, based on this analysis, (1) identify gaps in the defined requirements and specifications and (2) define a test plan that will assure that the defined requirements and specifications are fully met.
- He/she will create/manage/execute test scripts for product capabilities and components and will analyze and enter the defects found into the defect tracking system. He/she will work closely with product developers to define and execute unit and integration-level tests on components being developed. He/she will lead task teams in QA activities such as test case scripting, build acceptance testing, or weekly status reporting. He/she will set up, perform, and understand performance and persistence tests and will be able to identify, analyze, and communicate problems and issues.
- He/she will identify gaps and deficiencies in existing test plans, scripts, and cases, and effectively extend test plans where necessary. He/she will analyze and report test results and testing status from an overall product perspective.
- He/she will work closely with developers to: (1) review design specifications from a quality and testability perspective and recommend changes, and (2) provide unit and integration level testing on early versions of new products and features. He/she will provide technical training to junior QA staff.
- The successful candidate will train and guide Associate Engineers and QA staff in analyzing product requirements, defining test plans, developing test scripts and cases, and researching emerging QA methods and tools.. He/she will work with other team leaders to develop the best testing strategies and will lead the testing effort for a major component of the product.
- He/she will review and provide feedback on product requirements, functional specifications, and design and user documentation, and will track the efficiency of the QA effort in general.
- The successful candidate will analyze documented requirements for new product versions, and based on them, define the test plan for part, or all, of the new product version. He/she will analyze functional, performance, and scalability requirements and then define test plans that address the issues identified. He/she will define test cases and test scripts for complex and broadly used product capabilities and components.
Our Karachi office is conveniently located at Shahrah-e-Faisal. Selected candidates will be interviewed and required to work full-time from our Karachi office.
